The Police Department is located at 1008 West Main Street. The Administrative Division, Criminal Investigations Division, and Patrol Division are all housed at this location. The Administrative Division is an integral part of the Clarksville Police Department and is operated Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The administrative division keeps track and organizes the massive amounts of paperwork that flow through the department and is responsible for all data entry, records, and monies. Shannon Lemly is the Administrative Assistant for the Clarksville Police Department.
The Special Operations Division of the Clarksville Police Department is comprised of dedicated and professional investigators. Areas of responsibility for the Division include Criminal Investigations, School Resource Officers, Narcotics, Sex Offenders, Warrants, Evidence, Code Enforcement, and Prisoner Transport. The Function of the Criminal Investigation Division is to investigate all minor and major crimes. Unlike some larger departments that have Detectives who specialize in certain crimes, Clarksville Police Department’s Detectives investigate a wide variety of crimes. After Patrol takes the initial report, the supervisor on duty reviews and assigns the cases. Each case is worked until all leads have been followed and the crime is solved or the case goes cold. Detectives at the Clarksville Police Department work hard to solve each crime and make the best effort possible to prosecute each crime accordingly
The Patrol Division is tasked with the responsibility of responding to calls for service, as well as remaining pro-active and resolving problems utilizing community policing concepts. The 24-hour operation is structured into three 8-hour shifts that provide city wide coverage for a community of approximately 10,000 citizens.
