Clarksville Advertising and Promotion Commission (CAPC)
The Clarksville Advertising and Promotion Commission (CAPC) is appointed by the City of Clarksville to operate, manage, and oversee local tax dollars generated by the Advertising and Promotion Tax. The tax is levied at the rate of one-percent (1%) for restaurants and two-percent (2%) for lodging.
The original tax of one-percent on restaurants and lodging is designated for the City's Parks Department. The additional one-percent (1%) that was levied on lodging is available to support Tourism Events. The CAPC Tourism Funding Program is created to enhance and encourage tourism-oriented meetings and events by leveraging community funds with CAPC funds to assist in attracting visitors from outside the Johnson County area. Clarksville's A&P Funds are available to organizations and individuals that actively market their event to attract out-of-town visitors to Clarksville. Request for funding applications may be filled out online and be submitted to the Mayor's Office at 205 Walnut Street. The Commission meets quarterly. The following are deadlines for submission of funding requests in order to be considered by the Commission. January, April, July, October (Call City Hall for Exact Dates and Times 479-754-6486) |
