The Clarksville Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on August 27, 2026 at 6:00 pm, on a request for a Rezoning on a R1 to an IT on the following described land: Tower Road Parcel #002-01938-002

REQUEST FOR BIDS
Sealed bids addressed to the City of Clarksville will be received at the offices of the Mayor at 205 Walnut Street, Clarksville, Arkansas 72830, until 10:00 a.m. September 3, 2026 and then publicly opened and read for furnishing all labor, material, and equipment, and performing all work required for the following projects:
Dunwood Dr. Improvements
The projects consist of excavation, embankment, curb and gutter, storm drainage, asphalt, and other related items as described in the plans and specifications.
The attention of bidders is called to the fact that Act 150 of 1965 (as amended), Arkansas Statutes, states that a Contractor must be licensed by the State Licensing Board for Contractors before he may undertake work when the cost thereof in Arkansas is Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00) or more.
Plans, specifications, proposal forms and other contract documents will be available and may be examined and obtained from Clarksville City Hall, 205 Walnut St., Clarksville, Arkansas 72830.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check or bank draft made payable to the City of Clarksville or an acceptable bid bond for an amount not less than 5% of the total bid.
The City of Clarksville encourages participation of small, minority, and woman owned business enterprises in the procurement of goods, services and construction, either as a general contractor or subcontractor. It is further requested that whenever possible, majority contractors who require sub-contractors seek qualified small, minority and woman owned businesses to partner with them.
Proposals will be considered on the basis of cost, the bidder's financial responsibility, his equipment, and his past performance in completing similar work. The City of Clarksville reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any formalities, and to accept the proposal deemed to be for their best interest.

NOW HIRING – FULL-TIME AQUATIC CENTER CLERK
The City of Clarksville is accepting applications for a Full-Time Clerk at the Clarksville Aquatic Center.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 1:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. (Schedule may vary based on operational needs.)
Essential Duties:
• Provide excellent customer service to patrons
• Process admissions, memberships, and program registrations
• Receive and balance cash and credit card transactions
• Answer telephones and assist with public inquiries
• Perform general clerical and administrative duties
• Assist with daily operations and opening/closing procedures of the facility
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills
• Basic computer and cash-handling experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
